The Big Dig!

2 weeks ago we went to the John Deere classic in Davenport to visit my sister. The Johnson's invited us to the family night "The Big Dig". IT WAS AWESOME!!! The kids could ride/operate all the big machines, they had great food and gators for the kids to drive around.

At the end of the event, the John Deere staff showed off their "stuff" in all the equipment. There were awesome fireworks and one little mishap. This dump truck tipped while driving up a mound of dirt. The bed of the truck twisted right off the cab...this was NOT part of the show!

The boys in their John Deere gear. They are mesmerized by the big equipment and patiently waiting their turn.

Shay and Aunt Jill trying to pop the balloons with the scooper part (I don't know the technical terms). Shay of course did everything the boys did.

Conley and Aunt Jill trying to pop the balloons.

Trying to get all 3 smiling and with their hats on...impossible!

Aunt Jill and Shay scooping up dirt. They let the kids operate the controls. Aunt Jill helped Shay because Shay jumped right up and started swinging the scooper around and scaring everybody.

Notice the tats! Shay has on her John Deere gear and got a tractor painted on her face. She also got paintings on both arms and one hand...seriously!

Zach and Conley operating the digger. Conley was LOVING this!!!

Conley digging up some dirt!

Conley patiently waiting while Zach and Will dig in the dirt.

Miss Jill (that is what all the kids call her) is the camera lady. She is so great to capture all the fun moments! This is right after the gator race. This was such an awesome event for the tour players and their families.

Will drove Shay and Zach helped push during the race. There's Miss Jill with the camera again!

So you do you have to be family of a John Deere worker? I am CONFIDENT David and Phillip would just go gaga over attending this!! :) David has a John Deere shirt that says, "will trade sister for tractor." I should have let Conley borrow it! :)

Andrea, I wish this was open to the public. Unfortunately it is an event for the PGA tour players and their families. My sister nannies for a PGA player, that is the only reason we got to go. I'm always on the lookout for things like this for Nate and Conley to go to, let me know if you hear of anything!
